Diego Maradona lifted his first World Cup the 29th of June, 1986 in the Azteca de Mexico Stadium where 120,000 people were staring at him.
The Argentine game leader bolstered his team during the whole competition and accumulated smart kicks and decisive goals.
Inspired by the crowd composed of supporters and journalists the photographer Henri Szwarc immortalized this number 10th, standing back and presenting to the world the most famous soccer trophy. He tells that is lack of experience as a photographer – he started indeed a couple months before 1986 World Cup - prompted him to enter the stormy crowd instead of staying behing. This naivety led eventually to one of his best shot.
